On December 12, 2014, a disciplinary panel of the Texas Medical Board temporarily suspended, without notice, the Texas medical license of Thomas Vincent Taylor, M.D., after determining his continuation in the practice of medicine poses a continuing threat to public welfare. The suspension was effective immediately.

The Board panel found Dr. Taylor engaged in inappropriate sexual contact with a patient during the course of a videotaped patient encounter. During the encounter, Dr. Taylor examined the patient for a rash and discussed medication instructions. Following the examination, Dr. Taylor engaged in sexual contact with the patient and another individual who was in the exam room.

A temporary suspension hearing with notice will be held as soon as practicable with 10 days’ notice to Dr. Taylor, unless the hearing is specifically waived by Dr. Taylor.

The temporary suspension remains in place until the Board takes further action.
